    Was a polarizing filter used? Also fair amount of compression in sky.

    I think you somehow misunderstand the screeners' intention.

    If you ask them to pre-screen a photo that has already been in the queue and the result turns out to be a good-enough photo, apparently you will not need to remove it and reupload itself. Your photo has a few hours advantage above all the others. While this doesn't sound anything big, any unfair advantage is painful given the fact that photos take 11-14 days to be screened.
