      Let me stand my point a little. In USSR, and later Russia, the tail number (35 blue here) is the main number. It is used both in aircraft identification, aircraft-to-aircraft and aircraft-to-ground communication. RF-00000 style registration number is used mostly for communication with civilian ATC and isn't mandatory (you can see lots of russian military planes don't have it). My professor, a former russian air force combat pilot told me this info.

      That's why I am submitting all fighter jets under their tail numbers. Thanks!
