Stupid question — what settings do cause the halos? If I understand right, a thin line around the aircraft is much brighter than surrounding areas. Does turning down lights/contrast/sharpening help?
This issue is almost on every my picture taken under the glideslope.

No, I'm not talking about sharpening halos. These are the result of edits to highlight/shadow areas, usually with tools like shadow/highlights, clarity, vibrance, DLighting, etc.

Noob composition question: can I cut a little part of the horizontal stabilizer off? If I leave it in the frame, there is a lot of "empty" place on the right side of the photo and the plane itself gets smaller.
