  • Boeing 737 MAX 8

    Hello,

I live under the final approach at KMHR, and once in a great while I will see a Boeing aircraft, the latest being a 737 MAX 8.

Is there a specific reason Boeing flies here?

Not sure what this specific B38M was here for (link to FR24?), but Boeing used to commonly send test aircraft to KMHR for Xwind testing. This is because once the Diablo Winds (The dry, offshore north winds) come, KMHR runway orientation is perpendicular to the winds (in other words, not designed for the offshore winds), on a day with strong offshore winds, KMHR can easily get 35KT Xwind component, the Boeing 787 did some testing here.

I believe with the latest improvements this model will start to have more and more success.

Boeing 737 was always a competitive aircraft, many low-cost made a fundamental asset in their fleet.

May be, after this success, Boeing became lazy
