  • MD81s last flight & Pilot retirement water cannon salute

The final flight of N682RW landing at Willow Run, YIP after a short flight from Detroit metro, DTW 10-29-24. The ex Olympia Aviation McDonnell Douglas MD-81, which used to fly the Detroit Tigers and Redwings, was purchased and flown to Willow Run buy USA Jet to be parted out. In addition to the MD-81s retirement, the aircraft was given a water cannon salute when arriving onto the ramp to honor the retiring USA Jet captain on his last flight. I do not have any info on the crew

There’s just something about these send-offs that feels really special, like a farewell to an era of aviation and a nod to the people behind it all. Watching the MD-81 land for the last time after carrying teams like the Tigers and Redwings would’ve been a moment, for sure. If you’re ever looking to enjoy this kind of flight experience without breaking the bank, you can find some solid deals on Discount Business Class Flights—definitely a way to keep these memorable flights going.
