  • A380 launches new house livery for Airbus

The A380 is comming along quite nicley. But dont you think its time for a new house livery? The current one has been around since the launch of the A310. So I peiced some things together. One is a big hint. The new January backround for your PC is this.

As you can see, the big hint is 'the sky gets a new color'. Personaly I think its a nice selection of colors. But I think it mostly reflects the new Boeing house livery.

That, if you look closly is accually the tail of the 380. The dotted and dashed line is the rudder, and the nice white line is the leading edge. On that leading edge, you can make out some rivits.

Sorry, I had to use a.net
1st roll out complete with 4 engines !!! - Photo taken at Toulouse - Blagnac (TLS / LFBO) in France on January 8, 2005.

That picture, if you look at the blank, un coverd section of the tail, you canmake out 3 differnt colors.
The picture shows a aircraft Airbus A380-841 of the Airline Airbus Industrie with info or registration F-WWOW - &copy by Eurospot

This has nothing to do with new colors, just think its wicked looking plane. Those HUGE engines must give a wicked chainsaw effect on take-off.

    The winglets are painted blue.
The A 330/340 had grey winglets.

Better yet, I can't wait to fly ON it! Not to start another route prediction discussion, but does anybody have any idea which airline will be the first to fly an A380 to New York?

I agree with Alain - the nose section isn't quite what I expected, but it will grow on me eventually!

The rest of the bird looks quite graceful and a real treat to see full-size(SN 001 is just a mock-up and won't fly, from what I understand?).

Maybe Virgin Atlantic, maybe I'll go to Kennedy for one of the A380's first flights.

The nose area just below the cockpit windows seems to have gotten a slight bulge added which wasnt part of the original design featuring a flush nose as on normal aircraft, that bulge is making it look bad, plus the heavy area joining the wings to the fuselage bit is also unflattering, other wise the aircraft is great and would have looked just riight minus those oddities.
