If your friend is the same as mine, he gave me a call and let me know, it didnt go through the fence Ryan was refuelling it after it was towed back to the gate.

Yep it's Ryan . I'm on the phone with him now. He says he was over at Gate 20 and heard the MD80 come screamin down the runway with MAX REVERSE...like...it made the air and ground shake. Just the nose went off the runway and they were able to tow it out. He went over and fueled it after and the only visual thing wrong was with the nose gear doors. The airport was shut down for at least an hour and a half. They had planes holding and diverting and stuff.

Maybe I should change my name in case a AA MD80 over runs at STL then everyone will think I WENT OFF THE RUNWAY LOL. ok not THAT funny. But this is odd, twice at the SAME Airport and 3 times overall. Is it not aircraft related? just at the airport?

Just stupid pilots trying to land at night in CATIII weather....1/16SM VV001 RVRNO

Pretty stupid if you ask me...seeing as a fully loaded MD80 needs to go full power and hold the brakes on take-off from the runway it landed on today

Well Hi Steve and Chris, yes I both called you guys today lol. I was actually talking to the pilot in person as I was talking to Chris as he over heard the conversation. It was quite a hair raising experience. We were just sitting at gate 20 BS'ing me and a couple fuelers when I heard that and the first thing I said was "Oh Sh** thats going off the runway" and what do you know, I called that one. LOL. Well keep it real guys, aircraft number was N226AA came in from ORD with 16,300lbs of fuel on board and left with 29,700 back to ORD.

So far its the 2nd time within a months period of AA MD-80s going off the runway, and the 3rd incident so far.... this is getting rediculous. However this time with the vis being 1/16th and 100OVC, why would you really attempt to land in that... and at that, touchdown in the last half of a 7100ft runway... ehhhh that crew was changed out and replaced tonight.
