Depends on the runway that in use. EHAM:
          09/27: about 12 km / 8 mile, 10-15 min by car (30 by bike)
          18R/36L: 20 km / 13 miles, 20-25 min by car

I've never really measured the distance to ATL from my house (I'll try to remember to the next time I fly out), but according to Yahoo! Maps, I'm 11.1 miles by their directions (11.24 miles by Mapquest's measurements).

My apartment is 750 meters from the threshold of Runway 16 at DAB. To get to the terminal it takes literally 5 minutes.

Some 20+ minutes from HAM, a good 1h30min from XFW (Airbus). In both cases, the distance is less than the time would make you think it is.

I dont know how far distance wise, but just over a 10 minute drive in good trafic. My house is right under the flight path, and 85% of the time you can see the gear coming out.
                        Thanks,
                        Michael

Pop quiz: Which US president said, "Saddam Hussein has spent the better part of this decade, and much of his nation's wealth, not on providing for the Iraqi people, but on developing nuclear, chemical and biological weapons and the missiles to deliver them."
George W. Bush is not correct. It was Bill Clinton in his 1998 State of the Union speech. HMMMMMMMMM.
