767-400er @ PVD a cuple months ago

back sometime around sempember, my mother and i were dropping off my sister at collage in PVD, and i looked up to see a 767-400er(im fairly sure it wasnt a 777-300er) flying into pvd(only got a glimpse of it before it my sisters dorm building blocked my view), but i did see the raked wingtips... any idea what the hell it was doing there?

i think it might have been the pats charter, but i think it was sunday, so i can see no reason why it would be flying in in the afternoon

most likely a pats chater, but possibly an equipment change.

I think the Pats charter is a DL 764 so that could be what you saw.

The Pats usually use a 767-300. It comes in Saturdays or Sundays (may have been a Monday night game???).

and i thought they used 763's(thats one of the resons i dobted it being the pats charter), but i just saw a pic of the charterd 764er they used to go to jacksonvill and that reminded me of this... and it DEFINATLY had raked wingtips

I can give you the most exact answer seeing how my company handeled the charter . It was a Pat's charter for the playoff's game. Usually its a -200 or a -300 (mostly), but the -400ER was tossed in to compensate for all the added equiptment and so forth. It was bound for PIT.

this was back in september, so it was pre-playoffs, but is there any chance they got a 764er back then?

You didnt mention what airline it was...if it was Delta give me a date and I will check to see what I can find out for ya...

couldnt tell, i just saw it for a second and from below(and since the new delta and CO liverys look alike from the corner of your eye) i would guess it was delta though(seem to remember a glint off the belly of the plane)... since i was moveing stuff into my sisters dorm at the time, i wasnt thinking hard and it didnt seem out of place.. anywhay, ill try and find out the date...

I got bored last nite so I went through PVD flights for Delta for September and we had a couple of 767-300's that went in as Charters, but none on a Sunday and no 767-400...If I get a chance tonight I will go through our diversions and see if maybe it was a diverted flight...

again, im scetchy about the date... i THINK it was sunday(so she could be there for monday classes) and i THINK i remember it being september(since that was around when her classes started).. ill call her up to find what the first day of school was for her... though i am SURE it had raked wingtips...
