  • For people familiar with Toronto area airports

Where can I find flight schedules for the Downsview airport (CYZD)? I can find all the other Toronto airports but not this one. Maybe because it's owned by Bombardier?
If anyone has any info I would really appreciate it.

There are no scheduled flights at Downsview. Occassionally, I saw Dash 8s flying north from Downsview, probably doing pre-delivery flight tests.

He is correct. I know that Bombardier pilots test out Dash-8s out of the field, but not too often. I am fairly sure the airport is shut down.

As far as I know, the company Dash 8 shuttle flies in from Montreal in the morning (9ish) and flies back to Montreal in the afternoon (about 3-4pm) every weekday. I thought that might be a scheduled flight.

I didn't know that test flights are not scheduled. I guess I learned something new. It would be cool if we can find out when they would decide to fly a Q400 or Global though...

You are right though. YZD is closed to traffic except for Bombardier, with exceptions. Like last July when a DH-82C Tiger Moth and a Boeing Stearman came in on Runway 33 for the Toronto Aerospace Museum. We were actually allowed to go on the grass to watch. It was Really cool

A couple of years ago I took a tour of the Bombardier facilities at Downsview, there were 5-10 Cessna's sitting across from the manufacturing plant, not sure if they belonged to Bombardier or if they were private.

I never could understand why this airport was not developed as a commuter airport-on a subway line and next to the 401. Instead the TAA is going to develop a multi billion facility in Pickering that no one wants..
