  • 787 loses its shark fin + slopping futuristic front.

    Disappointing, if not unexpected:

We all must have seen this coming, but still, it sucks. The shark fin tail would have kicked as*.

Anyway, it will still look 'distinctive' at least

The shark fin tail must have been way too small for longitudinal stability.

That's what I was thinking... still, bigger windows will be nice.

This reminds me of an earlier study published by Flight International and showing a scaled down 777.

Or the fact that it will be un-aerodynamic and will possibly create vorticles.

As for the nose, Why not just go for something like the comet, VC-10, Caravelle style?

Hmm, bets on a mini-T7 style. I was just getting used to the distinctive styling too.

                  Good riddens...

It was pretty ugly in my opinion.

Whats the point? Its going to be a 767 with bigger windows and alot of range. This isnt going to be that amazing. The 747 ADV will be much more of a bigger deal if ever built.

Yeah but this plane is being built to replace the 20+ year old 767 series anyway.

And boeing did it again.... a cheap publicity stunt, look how WOW my new plane looks.
Same as the 'bold' move to design the dreamliner.
They had to do something to get the eyes from the A380 to Boeing.

Luckely the airlines are looking more at performance than looks.

Yeah I loved how they wanted all the public input from the "World Design Team" and did nothing with it...

I should try to get a concept model before they're all gone.
