  • CO Wants EWR-IAH-EZE, To Take UA Frequencies (Same as DL!)

After Delta announced it wanted UA's 7-dormant US-Argentina frequencies for JFK-EZE, now Continental applies for EWR-IAH-EZE with those slots.

Pursuant to 49 U.S.C. § 40109 and Rule 302 of the Department's Rules of Practice, Continental applies for an exemption from 49 U.S.C. § 41101 and an allocation of seven weekly U.S.-Argentina frequencies to provide scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property and mail on daily New York/Newark-Houston-Buenos Aires, Argentina flights beginning November 29 and to integrate this authority with Continental's other certificate and exemption authority.

Ok... since when did UA abandon the JFK-EZE routes? And why did they do it? I hope that CO gets it, then EZE will get improoved service and Argentina wil get cheeper service to the U.S.
Whatever is necessary, is never unwise.

UA has long-since decided to only fly its mainline metal to JFK from its Pacific hubs and London.

Of course I don't like this application and still hope that DL gets it, but I doubt it.
