772ERs to take over SIN-LAX nonstop from A345s

Buzz from the bees is that SQ is going to have to swap out more than one A345 for maintenance concurrently this summer. As a result, they're going to have to use the 9V-SV* 772ERs to fly the route nonstop outbound, with a tech in TPE westbound. No word on compensation for pax who paid for Exec. Econ.

SIN-EWR will of course remain A345-- at least until the inevitable happens

Thats a blunder if there ever was one! So this means we'll get 1x SIA 744 and 2x SIA 772ERs daily!

This renders the "non-stop" flight meaningless. It basically is the same as SQ's normal SIN-TPE-LAX flights then, at least on the westbound. The shortest route between LAX and SIN lies on a more southerly routing, which runs east of Taiwan but falls directly above MNL. Would it make more sense to stop at MNL for refueling?
