  • CO overtakes DL for TransATL destinations

Just an FYI sorta thing, but Continental has now overtaken Delta (in terms of transatlantic destinations) with the launch of service to Berlin, and will continue to distance itself from the pack with further additions such as New Delhi, et al.

It should be noted however that Delta is still considerably larger than Continental in transatlantic RPMs (as is American, IINM, but I could be).

DEL and BOM are not really trans-Atlantic? Since they would use the Polar Route.

So the day has come that a US airline serves more transatlantic destinations than DL . Oh well, as long as most flights are on the 757, DL will still be #2 in RPMs (AA is still #1), and perhapd will soon be #1 in pax (the gap to AA is not that big).

technically, no... however CO (nor any USA operator, that I know of) does not classify transpolar ops as a group per se so far as Ops specifications go.

NYC-HKG/NRT are considered transPacs and NYC-DEL will be grouped with the transAtls.

Hmm, when the 787's come online, I expect more European routes which currently are served by the 757 to be served by the 787. Although, with plans to add BusinessFirst to all 757's, you never know.

              They wont.

Routes to expect from those aircraft will be New York to Asia and Africa; and Houston to the middle East and Africa.

Two such routes of interest already mentioned by Kellner include EWR-TPE and EWR-CPT/JNB.
