  • Been on the 777 yet?

The aircraft celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, when was your first flight on the type? mine was in September 2004 on a Saudi Arabian Airlines 772ER on the Karachi-Jeddah-Karachi route in Y class, it was really spacious and comfortable as good as the 747, return leg was in J class (with Y class service) and that was really luxurious seating wise.

It was a direct flight from DEN to LHR... utilizing EWR as the gateway, since UA cannot fly nonstop from to LHR from DEN.

UA DEN-DEN about 2 weeks before it entered service (First 777 ever built, and its 2 weeks before any 777 entered service), flew over the grand canyon for about 2hrs or so.

I will finally be flying an actual routing with regular pax July 31 SFO-DEN.

SIN-CGK in early 1998 with SQ. I was very impressed with the aircraft.

Never have been on one. Hopefully this winter though when I go home to L.A. from Japan. Trying to book either ANA or American, or any carrier with T7 service from Japan to L.A.

I worked on the 777 program from 6/90 to 2/94. I did stress analysis and finite element modeling on the wing leading edge slats. It was the first new airplane program that I got to work on.

The extension to the Everett factory building was still under construction when the first 777 was in final assembly. Whenever we went out to check on the progress of the airplane, we had to wear hardhats! It was sometimes hard to tell who was there to work on the building, and who was there to work on the airplane.

I have yet to fly on one. Some day.
