  • Continental Airlines aircraft reg numbers

A couple of weeks ago, I spent some time spotting around IAH and now I'm in the process of working on and uploading the pics. What really strikes me when looking at COA aircraft is the lack of system in their registration numbers. Or did I just miss it? With many other airlines special sets of numbers are allocated to aircraft types or they are carry-overs from the last aircraft owner. But I just don't see a pattern with COA. Does anybody here have some thoughts or information on that?

There is 3 numbers on the nose door. Those are the ship number which is usually the last three numbers in the registration. IE. Co 777's are N77(ship number) Peter Max is 014, so peter max's is N77014. For CO 737's are different from the past mergers having different registrations. I dont know what the deal is with CO's 757/767.
