Turn on Fox News...there's an A320 flying over CA with gear problems...not much is known yet other than that it's still really high in the air. Reports are that the gear was "twisted" but it didn't look like in the live shot.

LONG BEACH - A JetBlue airliner with a nose gear malfunction was preparing this afternoon to make an emergency landing at a Southland airport. Flight 292 took off at 3:17 p.m. from Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, bound for John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City with 145 passengers aboard. The problem with the nose gear, which was down and locked but tilted about 90 degrees to the left, led air traffic controllers to direct the crew of the Airbus 320 to dump as much fuel as possible over the ocean before attempting a landing -- either at Long Beach or Los Angeles International airports.
How did it get from locked to in tilted way to 9 o'clock ???Inactive from May 1 2009.

This is taken from www.ntsb.gov, it's a probable cause report from an Airbus a320 that landed safely in columbus.
"When the landing gear was lowered, the flight crew received landing gear control and interface unit (LGCIU) faults. A visual fly-by revealed the nose wheels were rotated 90 degrees from the desired direction for landing. A normal touchdown was made, after which, the captain commanded an emergency evacuation using the overwing exits. Examination of the airplane revealed the external 'O' rings in the steering control valve had extruded and by-passed pressurized hydraulic fluid to rotate the nose wheels. This event had occurred before, and the manufacturer had issued a service bulletin. The operator had not complied with the service bulletin, nor were they required to comply with it."
I'm wondering if that service bulletin wasn't followed by jetblue.
