Same here, I like airports so I don't mind connecting. Gotta stretch the legs!

We'll have to see whether this will gather any interest, though I am willing to bet that Qantas will be interested. There are definitely business men out there that would be willing to spend a bit more and fly SYD-LHR nonstop than via either DXB or SIN. Of course, that number is limited, so whether 300 seats would be filled is doubtful. Truth behold, I doubt any potential 772XR operator would want that seatnumber, rather 250, or perhaps even 200 only. With only light seating, a few amenities could be included to make the flight more interesting, aside from the "standard" IFE/lie-flat seats/personal cabins/internat access, like e.g a shower or a changing room. Never say never.

Now if only there was more that was willing to fly on such long legs, I can second Paul's reply, I too like connecting via 1 or 2 airports (spotting-wise)

          Good assessment Mr. Voss
Like you said, if only BOEING - Partners can offer better enterainment or extra stuff (maybe also a small bar) to please the passengers, Guess its just about the matter of time, till we see those flying around the world.

As long as you don't plan on using the bar while you should be in the left cockpit seat .

Both of the 777-200LR flight test aircraft were parked side-by-side at BFI over the weekend. There was also an Air France 777-300ER, which (if I'm not mistaken) is the flying testbed for the "scalloped" engine cowling. They have been using it for noise testing before they deliver it to AF.

I dont see the problem...if I see 3 runways instead of one I have a better chance of hitting one, right?

Actually that should be an ANA plane. Just saw a pic of it in the German "Aero" yesterday, those "scalloped" engines look even sharper than the standard GE90.

Well, if you want to trust your flight to a Captain that spends most of his time at a bar and an FO whose only training was MSFS04...

Thats all up to the airlines. Boeing just builds the plane, they don't do interiors.
THE VOICE OF REASON HAS SPOKEN!
Pop quiz: Which US president said, "Saddam Hussein has spent the better part of this decade, and much of his nation's wealth, not on providing for the Iraqi people, but on developing nuclear, chemical and biological weapons and the missiles to deliver them."
George W. Bush is not correct. It was Bill Clinton in his 1998 State of the Union speech. HMMMMMMMMM.

As long as the captain got 3000+*bar-hours* and my F/O over 2000+ sim hours, would be fine

A 22-hour flight might sound like a nightmare, but in my opinion once you fall asleep it really doesn't matter if it's 14 or 22 hours. Only insomniacs could tell the difference.

I'm not what I would call an insomniac, but I can't sleep at all on an airplane. I think it probably has everything to do with the fact that I'm usually in economy and the seat only goes back about 2 inches, but I have absolutely no desire to do that for 22 hours. Also as if 12 hours wasn't bad enough for dehydration, 22 would be absolutely horrible. No matter how much water I drink on the plane, I'm allways all dried up when I'm done.
