  • ANA in YEG

This morning was the first of 3 visits by Japanese tourists on All Nippon Airways 747-400 JA404A. It came into Edmonton (YEG) a little earlier than expected (07:25) and departed at 10:35 on schedule back to Japan.

The next visit is Wednesday, Feb 22 and Sunday, Feb 26. I hope to see some photos posted. Enjoy todays visit on my website...

    Cheers, Kirk.

Thanks! The Coppermine Photo Gallery is nice and flexible.

As far as I know, the tourists are heading to Yellowknife and Fort McMurray. Unfortunately, sun activity is low and the nothern lights will be scarse. That said, a good display was presented in Alaska a couple of evenings ago.

The charters are a nice treat over the usual eye candy around the airport. The time of day couldn't be better as it's the slower part of the morning. Air Canada will have their hands full as tomorrow's flight is a full pax on and off turn.

Two wishes. Pokeman jumbo and sunlight! It's snowing now and supposed to be better in the morning.

The IL76's are for military charters to Cold Lake. I never asked why but I suspect they are for ammo shipments as I think it made everyone uncomfortable operating that out of YEG a few years back.

Hopefully that works out for you. I had to go down to LAX to get some variety. Contrails should be loaded with the photos from Chris, Youri and I.

Odds are mine will be up last, got a bunch of magazine deadlines and still working on getting the Calgary Airport Watch program started.

Well the second flight came in this morning and wouldn't you know it, the weather was less than cooperative. They got going a little late and didn't blast off until just past noon. This time round, some of the shots are inside the cabin and flightdeck. Same reg, JA404A, so the outside looked the same just 4 days older.

Mark, I can't wait until your shots are posted on the Contrails site. I always take a look every other day.

Yeh a couple of photos but nothing I will post to my site. I haven't really been following the IL76 with the camera much. They are back this Sunday and next Wednesday...so far. The sked keeps changing.
