  • AeroMexico charters to YEG.

Found out today that AM will be operating a series of charters from Mexico city to Edmonton this summer from July through to August. These flights are to bring in mexican tourists for trips to Jasper and the Mall and were operated by Mexicana back a couple summers ago using a 757-200.Anyone know anything more about these flights such as flight dates and what equiptment the airline will use???

After a little poking around turns out it will be 752s and 737-700s sharing the flights.Hoping the Aurora express flights by ANA will return in the winter since they were such a hit with the japanese tourists and it was nice to see 744s kicking around YEG.

Hm, interesting. That's definitely not a bad thing for YEG. But that article doesn't say whether it's going to be Mexicana or Aeromexico, though. But since you mentioned 737-700s, I'd guess it's Aeromexico then.

The new ERAA route map also says it.

YEG boy is the area best ambassador at large and shows it.

Interesting news once again, especially should AM actually operates them with 737-700s.

It will be interesting to see how these routes do, last year Mexicana flew twice into YEG, this year AeroMexico. I guess Mexico is a developing economy that might fit well with Canada.

It will be interesting to see how airports like YEG/YYC/YVR in the west benefit from airlines avoiding tough US customs and immigration in the upcoming year.

What's happening to Mexicana these days....

They went underground ?, dont hear/read much about their appearance anywhere...!!

I really hope they do well over there. Aeromexico is really advancing really fast. Good for them !

Mexicana shows signs they focus on pure scheduled services.
