  • Oct: NW $37mil profit, DL $88mil Loss.

(WCCO) NEW YORK Northwest Airlines Corp.'s October net income came to $37 million, according to a federal filing.

MarketWatch reports the Eagan, Minn.-based carrier said in a bankruptcy court-mandated monthly operating statement late Thursday that its October revenue totaled $1.03 billion.

Northwest had $2.2 billion cash on hand at the end of the month. From September 14, 2005, when it declared bankruptcy, to Oct. 31, 2005, Northwest recorded a $136 million loss and $1.57 billion in revenue.
    Good for NW.

The bankrupt Atlanta-based airline (Pink Sheets: DALRQ) posted a net loss of $88 million on $1.43 billion in revenue in October 2006, compared with a net loss of $301 million in October 2005. Delta did not report its revenue for October 2005.
Atleast DL is making progress and NO TO US AIRWAYS.

That's where you see the different strategies DL and NW are employing, as DL is way more agressive as far as restructuring their route network goes. Starting up new markets always means startup costs, and it also takes a while to really get a route going. That, and all the costs associated with Mesa f*cking up at JFK .

northwest making a profit is like me stealing money out of people's wallets and putting it on my tax return as income
