  • A380 to LAX and JFK

Officials of Airbus and Qantas Airways have said that the Airbus A380's first visits to the United States will include a stop at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

The scheduled landing is set to take place on Monday, March 19, 2007.

Simultaneously on March 19, two separate A380 aircraft will land at LAX and at New York City's John F. Kennedy International Airport, allowing both coasts to catch a glimpse of the future of commercial aviation. This provides Qantas an opportunity to accelerate its airport compatibility testing at LAX as its first A380 destination in America.

While at LAX, the crews will test airfield maneuvering, mating (docking) at a terminal gate, and ground-handling services and equipment including fueling.
I'm glad they were able to compromise!

That's funny! They nearly became the "Laughing Stock of Commercial Aviation." So much for the "Flagship Aircraft."

Now remember this valuable lesson learned from LAX kids: If you continue to b!tch and moan for days and weeks about being neglected, you will sooner or later get your way .

Well since I still get flying benefits with my dad working for skywest I'm going to have him get me a ticket on Frontier from SFO-LAX and the good thing is that the 19th is my day off from work.

Does anyone know what time of day it arrives and when it leaves? I'm thinking about flying down there for the day, but I don't want to arrive after it lands!
