Anyone here going to the 787 rollout (the "real" one in Everett or otherwise)? I managed to score a pass to see it at the Everett facility (nothing like having a Boeing employee as a relative with a spare ticket). I've heard that the actuall rollout is going to be quite unimpressive, that they're not even rolling it out of the hanger, instead having it sit on the tarmac outside the plant. But hey, I'm not complaining, I still get to see the future of large commercial jet aircraft forever change!

Don't hesitate to bring your camera along, unimpressive or not, the event will occur only once by nature ....

The camera is definately coming along. Got a scare earlier this week when some Boeing employee sent out a memo stating that camera permits would be requred, but that got shot down.
From what I've heard the plane was moved from the paint hanger back to the factory late Wednesday night. I also have heard that the "rollout" is actually going to be a ceremony inside the hanger and that there are no plans to actually move the thing, but time will tell!

Apparently there's going to be a flyover of all the 7 series planes, from the 707 to the 777. Each is supposed to land at it's time ( the 707 at 7:07 pm and the 727 at 7:27) and so on. That's gonna take a hell of a lot of coordination but it sounds pretty awesome.
