  • Boeing's weekly order update, orders up to 1144, best year ever

Others have this topic, so we might as well have it on here as well, can always make for an interesting discussion. Anyway, the referred site is

Don't expect something similar for Airbus, as Airbus only updates monthly. So, here's the update for this week:

    Totals currently stand at 239 737s, 5 747s, 36 767s, 70 777s, and 194 787s, for a total of 544 net orders this year so far.

I thought there were 30 UFO 787s? Is this another order for 10 frames?

Can't believe airlines are still ordering 737's. Congrats to B's marketing team!

The total for UFO 787s this year is 40, 30 of which make up one single order, and the other 10 UFOs are for 2, 4 and 4 respectively, IIRC.

Any other choice would be the wrong one.

                Yay Boeing!

As for the DAL 777, is that an LR? Is that their first order out of BK? Was it an option?

Did Qatar Airways ever confirm it was them who ordered the 30 UFO's?

Nope, Al-Barker's ego only allows QR to announce any orders when THEY feel it is time to announce them, regardless of whether Boeing already announced the orders as QR's or not. Was the case with their 777 order, is the same with their 787 order.

Is Boeing close to regaining the lead, or does Airbus still have those hundreds of pending orders?

Airbus still has all those pending orders, but Boeing does have quite a few as well (SU's 22 787s for one), but as far as firm orders go, Boeing has now passed Airbus for this year. Of course, Airbus hasn't officially updated their order page, so they might have firmed up some orders in the meantime.
