  • Albanian Airlines leases MD-82

Albanian Airlines enhanced their fleet by adding one MD-82 on lease from Bulgarian Air Charter.

Here is one picture showing this aircraft in hybrid-colours and "Albania Airlines"-titles. One "n" is missing.

      Hello,
I am not an expert regarding a specific aircraft but I can remember that the Air Bosna MD-81 (http://www.md-80.net/air_bosna.htm) flew for Arnoro (http://www.md-80.net/arnoro.htm) and for a very short time in the basic colours of Air Bosna/Arnoro for Air Max Africa (http://www.md-80.net/air_max_africa.htm).

It seems that this MD-81 is stored in and in rather bad condition.

      Regards!

          I don´t now

There are other members in this forum who are probably better informed. I personally think that this MD-80 is currently not operational.

It may be active. Like Douala and Pointe Noire, Libreville "enjoys" a very humid climate which takes its toll on paints. One day, your aircraft is freshly painted, six months later, your bird sports a crappy and predominently grey finish !

Intresting about LV taking in that MD-82. Theyve been taking in a couple ac lately, first with the F50 then the DC9 from South Africa and now an MD-82. I personally beleive the ac is a bit too big for them, especially now in the winter where i could image low loads with the winter season. Would be nice to see maybe some B735's or ERJ190's in their fleet although.

Zdravo T9-AAC was stored in Sweden after Air Bosna ended, but as mentioned it later went to fly for Arono and recently with Air Max Africa, where it probably is being stored and most likely still in its BiH registration. Was a nice ac with the airline, had a nice livery just like the new B&H Airlines. Would be nice to see if the A319's ordered during the time of Air Bosna will be transfered to B&H Airlines and they take the delivery.

Well, according to the Airbus website, the order of 2 still exists. But then again, they even have the 8 A319's listed for JAT and im sure you know how that deal has turned out Thats about as much as i know about the order.

The airbus orders & deliveries pages now shows "B H Airlines (ex Air Bosna)" and still has the order of 2 aircraft in the A320 family. Pogledajte ovde:

                      http://www.airbus.com/en/corporate/o...nd_deliveries/

its hard to comment on how accurate it is considering they still show "JAT Jugoslovenski Aerotransport" with an order of 8 aircraft from the A320 family, which are aircraft that JAT dont want. Im guessing that the Air Bosna order was transfered to B&H Airlines and has been put aside until some money comes in. They are expanding at the moment, in May they opened flights to Skoplje, and according to their website:

With the flights to London, Amsterdam and Scandinavia, i could imagine this is where the A319's would go, and for sure for Istanbul, maybe a new German destinations, and ofcourse summer charters. Would be nice to see B&H Airlines back in Beograd.

Sretan bozic i nova godina, zelim te.

Hmmm than BH is gonna procced with the Airbus order, its just a matter of when. My friend who has a friend who workes for BIH Airlines says they are planning for some Boeing a/c in 08.

Oh yea it would open great routes for BH. I mean those ATR's are working nonestop.

My idea of what they should do: lease a widebody and fly to U.S. charter flights during summer allthe Bosnians travel to Bosna than.

                        Hvala i vama.

Thats intresting about the plan for Boeing ac. I think only 1 should do for the moment, maybe say a couple times a week to London, Amsterdam and Paris. I agree, those aircraft are worked to the max. The same with OU and JAT ac.

I dont believe that any transatlantic flights would work from Sarajevo at the moment, well at least not from B&H Airlines. Bigger airlines in the region like Adria, Croatia Airlines and JAT dont even offer transatlantics, and out of all the F. Yugoslavian airports, only Belgrade, Pristina and Zagreb received transatlantic flights in 2007 and that being 1 p/w for all 3. B&H Airlines would profit better on opening flights to say Rome, Paris, Amsterdam or London where they could connect passengers onwards to a variety of North American destinations.

                          nema na cemu.
