    OK,

    The fire caption said
There is no threat to passengers or people, Captain Rob Brisley of the Charlotte Fire Department says.
    He also said
    says no one was injured

    Add the FAA?
The Federal Aviation website is not reporting any delays at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.

My question is, what is the big deal? Why bother posting?
    Signatures are overrated

So what did it end up being... flower, sugar, baking soda, baby powder?

A mysterious liquid that Charlotte firefighters removed this morning from the cargo area of a US Airways jet -- delaying a flight with 183 passengers -- isn't hazardous, and it may be edible.

"It is sugar-based, non-corrosive, non-harmful," said US Airways spokeswoman Michelle Mohr. "My bet is that it probably would taste pretty good on bread with peanut butter."

Mohr said that the fire department's hazardous materials team hasn't told her exactly what the substance is, only that it's harmless.

"It could be jelly," she said. "It could be cough syrup."
          Glad it wasn't anything serious.

I'm just curious what cough syrup was doing there in an amount copious enough to appear like a hazmat spill. I mean, that's a lot of cough syrup (or jelly, for that matter).
