United deferred launch of SFO-Guangzhou for one year until 2009
Payload Asia magazine (May) reported that United is deferring the San Francisco - Guangzhou daily service by one year. The original launch date is Jun 18 2008. Looks like that the high oil price is really eating into the airlines. The right to China was contested heatedly and UAL was granted the daily frequency by DOT.
