  • Northwest 757 at TPA with dent in nose.

    Guess it hit a bird.

TAMPA - A Northwest Airlines flight from Detroit created a stir among passengers when it landed in Tampa this afternoon with a sizable dent in the nose.

Northwest called it "a minor maintenance issue" in a statement released today.

Tampa International Airport spokeswoman Brenda Geoghagan said the aircraft collided with a bird. There were no injuries and the pilot did not request emergency vehicles to be on hand when making the landing, she said.

Nevermind. This is in the wrong forum and already posted in the safety forum. Sorry.

They offered compensation! They didn't have to as a bird strike is a non-controllable incident (like weather) and doesn't fall in the category for compensation.

Thanks to the new "Passenger Bill of Rights". Airlines here are becoming so very afraid of their every delay, and incident.
Whatever is necessary, is never unwise.

Why do people whine so damn much these days? Seriously. There's worse things that could happen that they could whine about.
