This is absolutely exciting! Great to see WN entering more of the upper midwest. Should supplement it quite well!

MSP-MDW should hopefully be a success!

The Twin Cities to Chicago is a big market. In recent years, several airlines have flown it. American, United, Vanguard, ATA, AirTran, Northwest, and Midway are the ones I can name off the top of my head.

I waited a long time to see this, and I'm sure WN will be a welcome guest at MSP.

Well MSP-MDW failed horribly for FL, so we will see what happens. Here are a few other things to keep in mind IMO.

This isn't shocking now that DL is taking over. WN is just going in to kill Sun Country and now that Delta is taking over the weaker management will allow such a thing to happen.

Well Minnesotan's have always been very loyal to Minnesotan brands, so here are two things. Sure a lot of MN's say they want Southwest to go to MSP, but not so they can fly on WN, so that the already pretty decent fares at MSP go down even further. They will still likely go for the NW flights since all of them have FF miles and more, and they are still brand loyal. However, now that it might become Delta and no longer a MN company. This may change, not just for the fact that its no longer a MN company, but also because Delta's management and Delta is general is weaker against LCC's. Not many LCC's if any have great success in NW dominated cities, MSP, DTW, MEM, IND just to name a few.

If WN can succeed at PHL vs US Airways and at DEN vs. United, I don't see why MSP would be any different against NW and their notoriously poor customer service and labor issues.

If WN can fair well against F9 in DEN, who IMO is better than any legacy I've flown on, and consitantly at that, then why would the have trouble against NW, which has shittier service than their regional partners?

Some people still can't see that being a LCC isn't a weakness.

Well.. NW has a lot more money than F9 does. Also, WN has not had great success in markets where NW has a large presense, I would have thought that they would have gone after MEM first before MSP. Remember by March its going to be Delta which offers a hell of a lot more than WN does. Also, its such a short flight that WN won't offer anything more than what NW does.

Oh ya WN will, 1 or 2 rounds of peanuts, free, 1 or 2 rounds of drink service, also free, and 2 bags to check for free! Thats enough right there.

NW offers only drink service for free...

Alex, thats not true, you also get a round of the silent treatment from the cabin crew and the feeling that you're not wanted there and everybody hates their jobs.

I really don't know when the last time you flew, but the past few times its been quite the opposite, when my GF flew to DEN back in August it wasn't like that.

As for service, now that it will be Delta, you will get drinks, and a choice of snacks...

Ummmm if they have so much money how come they are going out of business? Well they are being bought out due to the bleeding for so many years.
