    Good or bad publicity ?

Seems to me it speaks more about the pilot and conditions that the a/c itself. For that matter, it COULD also show that it could take a hard landing and not have a problem (assuming it didn't acutally damage the a/c). Am I missing something?

I didn't see any "cheap composites" failing. JUST KIDDING.

The commentary seemed kinda odd to me. Ok, play by play was good. But they seemed to imply that it may not be able to fly.

Now, the Airbus 320 at the france airshow years ago is def. different.

I read elsewhere that he had to get down in a hurry to make the only taxiway that was big enough for that beast.

If that was the case it doesn't surprise me that it was fairly hard. I've done some air assault style landings on C130's into short strips - and it felt like they basically flew it into the ground. The reason is they don't want to waste runway daintily flaring the beast - and they want to get weight on the gear as soon as possible so the brakes are more effective I was later told. Be nice if they had have told us to expect a hard landing before we did it (a little RAAFie joke I think on the grunts in the back). Not that anyone was complaining - the 30 mins of low level tac flying we had done before that had most of us feeling a bit green (no windows, but your world seems to be constantly moving) - we were just happy to get out of that swaying sardine can.

Damn, he cut the power out pretty good, the plane just dropped. Either way, sure shows how flexable the wings are and that the plane can take a beating. Great Landing.

Bugger ! I bet that spilt a few Gin and Tonics !!

....and I'll lay money there were more "skidmarks" around than there were tyres on the aircraft !!
If it 'ain't broken........ Don't try to mend it !

Great demonstration of a short field landing in heavy crosswinds.

I'd say it was meant to be.

Trolling for comments from airline pilots?
Les règles de l'aviation de base découragent de longues périodes de dur tirer vers le haut.

That depends, looking to start a flame war?

There are better ways to do it.
