Qatar Airways, Airbus and other Qatari parties have recently begun work on a brand new biofuel project, understood to be a separate alternative fuel program to their gas-to-liquid (GTL) initiative.
Late last year Qatar Airways successfully operated a commercial flight using a 50-50 blend of GTL and kerosene, and while this initiative continues, the newly created Qatar Advanced Biofuel Platform (QABP) will be looking at fuels from biomass.
