  • Two Engine Types for China Southern A330s?

CZ had long had a fleet of A332s and A333s with RR trents, but they've started receiving (according to ch-aviation) the first of six PW-powered A332s. Here is a photo:
China Southern Airlines 1st PW powered A330 1st fly in China CAN-PEK. B-6135. Airbus A330-223. JetPhotos.com is the biggest database of aviation photographs with over 5 million screened photos online!

And I believe the caption is correct in saying this is the first PW-powered A330 in ALL of China.

Why did CZ pick PW for these six birds?

I think I read something about these airframes being 'rejected orders' or something similar that they picked up on the cheap.
