TAM, Brazil's largest airline, ordered Airbus aircraft worth just under USD$3 billion at the Berlin air show on Tuesday.
The order is for 20 A320 single-aisle planes and five A350 wide-body jets. The order is worth around USD$2.8 billion at list prices.
"These new aircraft will allow us to continue our strategy of operating a common fleet throughout our domestic market," said Líbano Barroso, chief executive of TAM Airlines.
In addition to this order, TAM has 44 single-aisle Airbus A320 family aircraft on order, as well as three A330-200s and 22 A350 XWBs, for a total backlog of 69 aircraft.
