Spirit Airlines is checking in passengers without computers at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport after experiencing problems with its system.
The Miramar-based airline has been upgrading its systems and its website was also down early Wednesday morning. An airline spokeswoman said in an e-mail to The Associated Press that "all flights are operating and we have not had any cancellations."
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport spokesman Greg Meyer confirmed Spirit began so-called manual check-ins at the airport and adds no flights have been delayed. The security checkpoint at Palm Beach International Airport has not been affected due to the system failure.

Anyway, how do you 'manually' check someone in, and get that to fly past TSA? It must be horrendous, but then again - it's little change from Spirit's stunning customer service. I wonder if they are offering compensation to passengers?
