  • WestJet to operate Dublin-Canada flights...

    Both the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) and Westjet have confirmed that the carrier will begin non-stop flights from St Johnís, Newfoundland, and direct services (with the same aircraft) from Toronto to Dublin between June and October next year.
    Dublin will be the first European destination served by the airline based in Alberta, Calgary, which serves routes in North and South America and the Caribbean. Westjet will fly daily from Toronto, stopping over in St Johnís and then travelling on to Dublin.

    Sounds like a fun run, and wish them the best. What do you guys think? Will this pull passengers away from possibly flying AerLingus or Air Canada? Hell, with a little luck St. Johns might be a new LCC hub for European services (if Ryanair makes good on some of their ramblings...).
    Whatever is necessary, is never unwise.

    Interesting! It seems that WestJet will schedule their Boeing 737NGs for these flights?

    I think that WestJet evaluated the viability of such flights and the "niche" they see. I wish them all the best!

      If I remember correctly, Air Canada had a seasonal St. John's - London flight some years ago, using A319s.

        It is still listed as an active flight, and this was cool to watch;
