Just checking on some flights to China and Tianjin Airlines flights have been appearing from Gatwick-Chongqing-Tianjin. Had a look and apparently they started late June. Interesting that it isn't Hainan Airlines opening up a route to Beijing, but I guess by Tianjian Airlines operating this route they may take some of the market from other airlines flying from Beijing, due to the proximity of the cities, and possibly even from BA operating from Chengdu with the flights from Chongqing. I've taken some domesting flight with GS before and the service was quite good and the interiors better in comparison to CA,MU and CZ.
