Oh, many people did forget those with heart conditions, immune disorders, the elderly, the less than perfect, the freaks. They completely forgot them.

"Oh, this mask is so bothersome. I can't be bothered. Someone please make up a narrative that lets me end this intolerable bothersomeness."

There is an incredible shitpot of valid, scientific data which suggests that viruses can slip through masks.
The science is written right on the mask: KN-94. Rated to filter 94% of particulate matter larger the specified filtration size (3 microns, if I recall correctly) Some virus DOES slip right past the mask.

But you just can't grasp this part: the masks are designed to MITIGATE the virus, not prevent all infections. And they were needed to MITIGATE the tsunami of sick people overrunning the hospitals and sickening other people there. Why is that so hard for people to understand...

Oh my friend who died from cancer due to the lockdown so people could avoid a fairly typical flu bug…and very few actually avoided it.

It killed over 7 million people. Over 1 million in the US. And most in the first two years. Is that fairly typical? Is it ‘typical’ to deluge hospital ICU’s and require refrigerated trailers in hospital parking lots to hold all the corpses? This ‘typical flu’ narrative astounds me.

        • Question (rhetorical): Why do doctors use surgical masks during surgery?

          This thread sickens me.

The same reason farmers use glyphosate: to reduce the billions and billions of “bugs”.

And, just like TeeVee’s favorite example, it’s perfectly ok for the doctor to lower his mask to sip his coke, per the scientific policy which we shall not question.

So we (the general public) can't learn from their expression that they've made an oopsie?

That's actually not that bad of an answer. When YOU apply glyphosate on a crop, is it to reduce the billions and billions of bugs on YOU?

In the middle of the surgery with their face on top of the patient?

                    Indeed, a sad statistic.

But, repeating: Almost everyone got it, so masks did very little, except for your one flight.

And the majority of people reported zero to “typical flu” symptoms with people with co morbidities faring worse…both pathogens…so yeah, it’s similar.

                      1. You made the comparison.

                      2. Your response indicates that TeeVee’s example/objection to mask rules is valid.

Is this the myth you tell yourself? Perfectly healthy young people died from it, including the doctor who first identified it. Perfectly healthy young people (including a few I know) had long-term disabilities from it. It definitely effects many systems in the human body. It is not the common flu at all.

I did not get Covid during the spread of the most deadly early variants. That was the point of taking precautions and being vaccinated. When things had cooled down and the hospitals were mostly back to normal I went out for the first time to a crowded place without a mask. I got the virus three days later.

Unfortunately, perfectly healthy young people die from a wide range infections with some regularity…

”It’s not […] at all” is wrong by the purest of logic, but more so, is insightful into your binary, fantasy world.

And from car crashes, with and without seat belt. Above and below the speed limit. And not even mandating ABS and airbags eliminated car crashes deaths.
