  • RIP Frank Shrontz

The man who brought the triple-seven instead of triple shareholder value has gone to that Victorville in the sky. I'm posting this in the Aviation Safety Forum for obvious reasons. In memory of the last head of Boeing when safety and a job well done were top priorities.

Known for his leadership and his commitment to company culture, he left as chief executive in 1996, opening the door to a corporate makeover.

Well. If you ask me, aviation safety is limited to none. I am open for former 747 Flight Captains who like to discuss their newest toy (msfs 2020)
here in the aviation safety section. @ Bob.

For some reasons you know the Man who didn't really invent the 777, not an aviation engineer, but the Man who was Boeing CEO when the 777 made her first flight,
      in June 1994.
      Frank Shrontz (December 14 1931 - May 3rd 2024) was a lawyer since 1954, and Boeing CEO since 1986.

Obviously, December is a good month for aviation CEOs, both, manufacturers and airlines ... Although I must say,
I'd always (!) prefer a jet pilot as CEO, if the choice is, lawyer or jet pilot.

The Lufthansa schedule, according to en wiki says, on a brighter day in the future, the 777-9 could replace the LH-B744.

But this day just by somebody was pushed from 2025 to the end of 2026.

when safety and a job well done were top priorities.
I understand what you mean. But before we see the very very first Lufthansa 777 of all times, let's long live the LH-B744.

PS: In memoriam also, Joe Sutter (1921-2016), Boeing aviation engineer at least since 1954, and the father of the LH-B744 .

When safety and Boeing were understood as the same, LH-B744 (in the fleet since 1989).
The German long haul is alive since 1955, 69 years and still kicking.
The Gold Member in the 747 club, 50 years since the first LH 747.
And constantly advanced, 744 and 748 /w upper and lower EICAS.
This is Lohausen International speaking (est.1927), echo delta delta lima.

Can someone please try and explain the difference between designing an airplane and "inventing" one to our German friend?

I don't think that this makes sense, since I don't understand 90% of his posts, neither the English nor the German ones, although I'm a native German speaker

Join the club! I know that the fact that he has been on the site before us seems to be very important to him. I also think he has semi erotic thoughts about anything to do with Lufthansa.
