  • 737-400 of Adam Air of Indonesia with 102 people on board lost

    Breaking news from Hong Kong (at 19:31 HKT, Jan 1 2007):

    An Adam Air (an Indonesian LCC) 737-400 aircraft flying a domestic flight from Java Island to Sulawesi Island with 96 pax and 6 crews on board has lost contact with ATC.

    Damn, not a good way to start the new year. I hope for the best, but I'm afraid we can expect the worst .

            According to Poliih News Adam Air Boeing 737-400 crashed into the sea about 100miles from the city of Makasar. it is said that the aircraft was flying from Djakarta - Surabaja - Manado. Emergency crews are on it's way to the crash site. The Minister of Transportation said that the radio contact was caught when the aircraft was flying over the downtown Sulavesi in bad weather conditions. .

            Airplane Boeing 737-400 Adam air flight number KL-574 didn't arrive at it's destination 6 hours after it's planned arrival time...

                    Wow.

                    I do hope there are surrvivors, but in situations like this with planes crashing into bodies of water missing for hours, we rarely see that.

                        I can't believe this, it was 6hrs after it was supposed to arrive and then they figure out something is wrong. Then they go well maybe it made an emergency landing somewhere. The way this sounds I don't ever want to fly there because its quite clear they don't have a clue about anything.
