OAKLAND PARK - A small plane crashed into a house a short time ago, a spokesman for Executive Airport said.

The Cessna 421 twin-engine prop plane took off from Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport and went down near Andrews Avenue, just north of Commercial Boulevard, said airport spokesman Chaz Adams. The exact location was the 5300 block of Northwest First Avenue.

Adams said he was looking into a report that the plane was headed to Ferdinand Beach in north Florida.

Local television stations show the plane crashed into a house and cut it in two.

This was the aircraft in question:

Apparently he was flying alone, the pilot was Cecil Murray, the same one seen in the photo above. He was 80 years old. The plane was based here in Costa Rica.

Very sad story for all of us down here .
