I am new to this forum but have been lurking for many years. So first off: high to everyone.
On March 1, 2008, a LH A320 almost crashed when a wind gust hit the plane at touch down just after decrabbing. The approach was remarkably stable up to that point given the conditions and the crew was able to go around. DER SPIEGEL now reports that the computer system may have played a role in that incident. One of the main wheels had touched down and put the plane into "ground mode", limiting the travel of flight controls. The article can be found here http://www.spiegel.de/wissenschaft/m...638211,00.html
Would really like to know from Airbus pilots what they think about this.
Regards,
Michael
