If prisoners can hide grenades and mobile phones internally in their body, it’s not much of a stretch to think that terrorists could smuggle components past security. I hate to post such information and speculation but I have already seen it posted publicly out there; regretfully it seems the masses don’t think it’s possible. If people can hide and grenades in their rectum and vagina and avoid detection at a prison I don’t think it’s much of a stretch to think that a terrorist could hide plastic explosives or liquid precursors in bottles hidden in their body cavities................
Here is what happened in Saudi Arablia recently

Lets face it - even if we were to implement body cavity searches a determined terrorist could have a surgical incision and explosives placed in the peritoneal cavity I'd suppose. The only way that would be picked up would be full body x-rays!
Clearly, if/when we get to this level of issue the terrorists need to be stopped by the internal security aparatus of countries. Then again, would the terrorists bother? Why not kill hundreds with a couple of bombs in bags in the subway (see London Underground) - no security there. Why not pick a shopping mall and strap some explosive to a gas tanker? Why not a school assembly (better psycological impact)?
Unfortunately the terrorists have the whip hand here - the best and only real defence we have is to catch these fleas before they get to set their explosives off. Remember that the next time some politician whinges about the cost of ASIS, FBI, MI5 etc.

Originally posted by ATFS_CrashThrowing money at the problem isn't going to solve the problem, because a lot of it is political grandstanding, graft and dereliction. The government is misappropriating funds, has conflicting inept policies. The current administration largely apparently hires and fires people for political favors, political/personal vendettas rather than whom is best qualified for the job and job performance. Often good people have been axed because they aren't political lemmings; so they are used as scapegoats; just to be replaced by incompetent derelicts that grandstand and make it sound like they are making things better when they're spending money like drunken sailors and reducing our security.
Originally posted by ATFS_CrashWe spend all this money on security and it is largely abused and/or neglected. Taxpayer money should not be used by childish screeners that seem to care more about ogling and copping a feel than security.
Originally posted by ATFS_CrashWe shouldn't be spending tons of money on high tech equipment that breaks down all the time, requires expensive repairs, is very unreliable, and gives a lot of false positives and often fails to detect real threats and often isn't even used because all the problems it has; when sometimes old-fashioned cheaper technology is more reliable, more flexible and more effective.
Originally posted by ATFS_CrashSure the agencies could use more money and better equipment and more power.
Originally posted by ATFS_CrashHowever why should they get more money, better equipment and more authority when they already are largely inappropriately using the money that they receive, not properly using the equipment that they already have, and abusing the authority that they already have. They currently already have policies that largely rendered themselves ineffective and counterproductive.
Originally posted by ATFS_CrashWe spent all the money to prevent the September 11 attacks, we probably could have prevented the attacks but we wasted the money because we would not act on our intelligence because of political correctness.
