An unmanned B-Hunter UAV military plane crashed in Belgium. This is the link to the article with a picture. The plane weighs around 700 kg (1400 pound).
I will not translate the complete article but this is a summary of what happened. The plane returned from a mission above the Northsea. The meteorological conditions did not guarantee a safe landing and the military opted for a controlled 'crash'. For this purpose the plane has a parachute.
It was diverted to a field near the airport, the parachute deployed but for unknown reasons did not detach a couple of meters above the ground (as it should). Hence, it was taken by the wind and blown across the field into a couple of trees destroying the wings, etc.
Belgium has (had) 18 UAVs which were also deployed in the Balcan and in Congo. 2 were shot down and 3 in total crashed. Cost of one plane: 1,5 million Euro.....
