So, what really would be interesting, to see what happens on board the competing aviation alliance, wouldn't it.

I can say that I don't know what happens on board of jets which fly for the Oneworld Alliance, I've never sat in one of those.

Which is a rather sad fact, because among them, there also are the Flyin Kangaroos with a/c types like the QF-B744ER 'Wunala'.

And you. I don't ask you for experience as a passenger in my avatar. But have you ever seen 'the other side', e.g. the cabin of a Star Alliance jet?

I know that your avatar theoretically should pay for your next flights, with your amount of ff miles..

This topic once has been started as a Star Alliance topic, so.. Here in this world, we also know passengers who fly more often than others:
Lufthansa HON circle - for women and men who collect more than 600,000 miles (only First Class or Business tickets are valid) within 23 months.

    et cetera.

But, as I said in #639, probably in Europe, the problem with too small aircraft is not so big. And I've never heard in Europe, that only HON circle members are allowed on board, because the a/c is too small!!

Both, UA and LH, own the type A320. Thus, UA owns the a/c type with enough seats. So, .. what? (see also my # 639)

PS: Again, with the friendly eye of your Star Alliance partner.

fyi, i am not concierge key. one has to spend a lot more than i do to get that and it's only offered to a relatively small group of flyers. i'm a lowly executive platinum

Have you ever read one of my quite recent forum entries where I said something about Falitz, or assholes (in the cockpit)?

Since I watched Flight # 5719 on German TV, Falitz is my the new word for asshole in the cockpit.

Imho, there is a misunderstanding when due to a) stripes on the shoulder or b) age
a Flight Captain feels so strong so that he (imho a real male problem) is an asshole in the eyes of his colleagues on board.

Since I know where this topic originally came from, I wonder if that's also true for people who remove passengers -who have paid for the flight-
from an aircraft which definitely is too small.

Btw, that's not the reason why I chose this avatar. But I sometimes really wonder why too small a/c are such a common problem, so that this forum entry is # 639 (!) here in this topic.
I know that in Europe, LH 747s have not been used for routes which are shorter than 1,500 nautical miles. But I also know that an UA-B744
(374 seats, during the last flight of an United 747-400, afaik)
by far is not the next step,
    after an UA-E170 (72 seats).

    UA owns.. type A320 (150 seats), type A319 (128 seats), type 737-700 (126 seats), type 757-200 (169 seats), ...

So, I don't see a reason to chose a rather tiny type like E170 with the risk to become
    "famous"
not only here on jetphotos (....!) for routes which are operated with too small a/c types.

PS: All that with a friendly eye of your Star Alliance partner.

"Hurling" meaning tossing a foot or two onto the top of a pile, and "beloved" meaning ????
A similar video from Manchester, UK showing baggage handlers doing the same thing was sent to the airport general manager. He was very angry at how customers baggage was being treated and instructed the baggage handling contractors Swissport to initiate an investigation. He apparently told Swissport that the continuing use of Swissport services could be conditional on there being some dismissals.

Perhaps some of our industry insiders could explain this...When looking out the window, I get the idea that the official FCOMQRHCVOH procedure is to give every suitcase an extra toss and drop...(adding stress to my Aqua Velva aftershave bottle and souvenir plate)...I silently curse them, but wonder if this is necessary to establish traction on the conveyor belt?

American Airlines flight 2763 from Phoenix to Boston was forced to land in Kansas City so authorities could escort the unruly passenger off the plane. Eyewitness David Markoski told the WBZ-TBV news channel that the man, who has not been named, boarded the plane with two dogs and appeared to be drunk.

We (airlines AND customers) need to toughen up regarding common sense and rules and the concept of right and wrong and that sometimes life sucks.

Don't go dragging crazy or smart-ass people off of planes...so we let the nut jobs on and THEN when they do chin ups on the bin...arrrghhhh....we better land and let them off...

And then- geemanitly...you don't look so good, you aren't going to have breathing problems or a heart attack on the plane? right? "HELL NO, I HAVE RIGHTS (and my anxiety dog)"

that too. but when people start crying about having given up our liberties with things like the patriot act, it makes me laugh. we've given up FAR more. through our elected assholes, we've given up just about everything. big companies are let to do whatever they please. worst case scenario, they pay a fine. and who benefits from these fines? uncle fuckin sam. if you're lucky enough to not have your class action thrown out, a settlement will ensue in which the company pays MANY 10s if not 100s of million, but that is shareholder money. and there is never a "next time one or more of you is going to jail" clause.

Enron, Merrill, Wells Fargo etc etc etc.

and yet, there are people (like one guy here) that just say that lawyers are opportunistic parasites....

on another note, this past friday i was literally blown out of my seat by the depths to which AA has stooped. Flight 602 from ORD to PHX, at some point during cruise, the PILOT gets on the PA and starts making this 3 minute long pitch about the AA Barclays credit card offer!! WTF?!?!?! Flight crew doing marketing shit IN FLIGHT?

it's bad enough we have to endure the cabin crew making this annoying and ridiculously log speech about the stupid card on every bloody flight. now they have the flight crew involved. oh, and i discovered another dirty trick they are pulling: if you are connected the their new wifi service--aainflight-- during PA announcements, your wifi freezes and the words "PA ANNOUNCEMENT" appear on your device. so they assrape you on super shitty wifi, then block your use of it while they make their desperate marketing announcements.

shame on you AA. dirtbag behavior.
    Sue them!

It started with a trickle: In late August, JetBlue announced it would up its first checked bag fee by $5, to $30. Then came the cascade: Within a month, United, Delta, and American Airlines all followed suit. No doubt some passengers have responded with an increase of their own, in the amount they’re stuffing into…

This article asks why they charge for checked baggage but not_carry ons.

As much as I LUV free suitcases and acknowledge that it's a HELL of a profit center and miss the good ole days...

Do we need to give ANY acknowledgement to a hoarde of bag chuckers and belts and carts and tractors and distribution systems carousels and drivable airplane loading belts and barcode readers, and peel and stick tags?

Cost's them a few bucks to offer all that, maybe they SHOULD profit off of it?

It's more the change fee/refundable ticket that's the royal screw over.
