  • Two gentleman of Verona ...

    ... who are probably now (if they're lucky) back at ground school.

    The scene: Verona Airport. BH Airlines A320 departing, 87 pax, but while on takeoff, crew did not apply forward pressure, so nosewheel left runway at 30 kts - and several further times during the takeoff roll; the aircraft suffered serious damage as a result of tailstrikes, still continued takeoff (and went into alternate law).

    The crew were going to continue the flight, but pressurisation warnings (a result of the fuselage damage) changed their minds and they returned to the airport.

    The trim was found to be well outside limits.

    I am surprised that wight and balance was not even mentioned... even if to say YES, IT WAS CHECKED AND AMAZINGLY FOUND OK.

      The cause of the accident was a human factor. In particular the occurrence was triggered by an aircraft loading other than approved by the load and trim sheet with respect to the positions of the passengers on board, which resulted in the center of gravity being aft of the limit certified for the takeoff mass of 56 tons.

        I think the flight crews next work related question should be “would you like fries with your burger sir ?”

          But only if they can pass rigorous testing to see if they can fill the french-fry container evenly.
