As I am always checking out this forum to see what flights people have taken.........I`ll try to do one myself!
Amsterdam to Norwich (UK) and back.....so get prepared..I`ll give it my best shot!
Saturday the 3rd of April we went to Amsterdam airport around 11 AM
we had to do a self check in......since it was the first time in our lives..we waited untill the prettiest ground attendant was ready with her previous customer.
after walking through the whole system there...we were finally checked in..........seats 15D/ E and F were our seats......pretty cool........I had a window seat!
after the standard securitychecks we went to a bar for some Cappuchino, and after that we walked through the terminal for a while.
we checked our gate number, and it was D6.
after a short walk and some stairs we got there, and the boarding started............all passengers were boarded by the stewardesses, and we had to wait for a bus.........Now.........Schiphol seems to have not enough bus drivers......so this is where we were delayed for 15 minutes.
But Finally........a big yellow bus came, and picked us up for a pretty cool ride past all the other parked aircraft, during the ride I chatted something with a KLM cityhopper UK captain......he was flown to norwich to fly the next flight back, our crew had to rest there.
finally......we drove up to the buffer area, where all the short (mainly cityhopper) flights depart.
suddenly the bus stopped.......a Fokker 70 was departing and we had to wait for the jetblast to go away.......the van in front of us didn`t wait long enough, and he had a hard time driving
the bus turned around.......and there she was...........our Fokker 70 (PH-KZD)
we boarded the plane, and I was greeted by the most pretty FA I have ever seen
my seat was 15F so I had to walk to the rear of the plane to get to it...........and as I ended up ther........i saw another FA ..........and she was even better looking
I sat down in my seat, and I thought it was one of the best seats in the house........I could see the wing, and I could see into the engine (seat 25 F is the 3rd window in front of the engine of the above picture)
due to the bus delay......the crew was in a bit of a hurry so the door was closed 3 minutes after I sat down!
the crew did their welcome on board talk, and suddenly.....the righthand engine started..........and I could see that really good!
after a tiny while number 2 started........and we soon started our short taxi to runway 24.......the captain came on for a chat, and he said we were 3rd in line.....so I saw a Singapore airlines 747 depart, and we had to wait for a Lufthansa CRJ to take off..........and then we got onto the runway, and waited for the CRJ to clear.
Now.........I am not sure , but the palne was really full, and NO flaps for take off were selected (I don`t know if that is normal in a fokker 70..........since it was my first time flying on it)
the engine sound swelled up......and we started racing down the runway, and off we went pretty steeply.
The flight was really smooth, and we got some salted cookies and some orange juice for lunch
after flying on cruising altitude for maybe 10 minutes.....the decent was started, and we touched down on the Norwich runway, 34 minutes after take off.
On the airport there I saw some museum aircraft, and some BUZZ Bae jets, a Air Littoral fokker 70, and an Air France one.....probably stored.
we parked next to a Embraer 145 from Eastern Airways, and as soon as the flight started......the whole thing was over again (toooooo bad!)
Tuesday the 6th of April
we were on Norwich Airport pretty early......so checked in and went (again ) for a cappuchino.
And I saw the SHANGHAI CArgo 737 (very fresh!!!!!!) taxiing out........I think on a testing fight.........since it was later photographed on Southhampton airport that day)
The Eastern airways jetstream 41 departed for Aberdeen (never saw a 41 before for real)
and we went through customs and securtity checks.
the jet home was again a fokker 70......this time PH-KZO (ex British Midland)
after a short wait.........we boarded the jet, and I went to my seat.......that was 14F on the return flight.
take off was pretty quick (again NO flaps) and we climbed..........to suddenly hear the engine sound die away, and we remained that way for a while.
I heard a lot of fighters train there in the area.....so i assumed that was why he stopped climbing for a while.
then the engines came up again.......and we started the crossing of the North sea.
Catering this time was again Orange juice and a "gevulde koek" (dutch sort of coockie with almond filling)
and that was handed to me by again a very pretty FA.
again after about 30 minutes.........we started the final approach for Schiphol.
Much to my surprise......we came in on runway 00C.............and for the people that know Amsterdam airport......that is pretty uncommon.
well......after a very smooth landing (36 minutes after take off), we taxied to the stand in a very hing speed...........and the engines stopped there.......another flight completed.......
my final grades for these flights!
Service : 8
aircraft :9
FA`s : 10 (ofcourse!)
although we started our flights with a delay.........we were really near the planned arrival time on the destination.
overall..........KLM cityhopper is very good to fly on........though compared to easyjet and stuff...........expensive!
i hoped you enjoyed my report..........
And I look forward to reading your reports again!!!!
