  • JUJ-COR-AEP on AR1495 B732

    HI everybody,

This is going to be my very first report so sorry in advance for the mistakes.

I started my trip last saturday from JUJ (San Salvador de Jujuy, Argentina). I arrived about 40 minutes before scheduled departure, closed but enough.

After checking luggage to AEP, I went to the boarding area at the first floor for documents check (a requirement at argentine airports for domestic flights). After a couple of minutes I was at the boarding area, a small area just for wait the flight without any amenities.
JUJ (Gob. Guzman International Airport) is a medium size airport with very few flights a day. It operates a daily flight to AEP (4 x week direct, 3 x week with stop at COR), 3 x week to AEP via SLA operated by A4 (Shouthern Winds, an argentine company) plus privete flights.
In the past, LB used to fly JUJ-VVI on 727 and MJ (ex LAPA) operated another daily AEP-JUJ-SLA-AEP on 737.

In the meantime the AR1494 (incoming flight AEP-COR-JUJ) arrived to the platform. Refuel, cleaning and ready to go again to COR-AEP as AR1495.
The aircraft was a 737-200 in new color scheme. Although they have several years, I love those AR birds.

We started to roll on time from the platform. The departure was a bit shaked, in a cloudy afternoon, but after get cruise altitude everything disappear. It was the moment for a snack, composed by a piece of cake, a sandwhich, coke, cup of te, etc. It wasn't a first class menu, but was ok for a 1:30 hs flight to COR.

The closing procedure to COR was direct straight to RWY 18. Easy landing from the north, and arriving empty platform (just a few private cessna).
COR (Taravella International Airport) is the third airport in Argentina. It has several flights to AEP (at least 10 a day, counting AR+A4) plus the following

    AR
    2 daily to MDZ
    2 daily to EZE
    1 daily to TUC
    3 x week to IGR
    3 x week to JUJ
    3 x week to SLA
    ? x week to BRC ( at least 1)
    from June, daily to VVI

A4 operates 3 daily to AEP, some of them extended to NQN and BRC

Besides national companies, COR is visited for another companies
LB 2 x week to VVI
    LA 2 daily to SCL
    RG daily to ASU-GRU
    UAIR daily to MVD

After refuel, we restared the flight on scheduled. Departured from RWY 04, turn right to about 90 and then 135 and direct stright to AEP, in a 1:00 flight. A brief snack again for this leg and everybody ready again to land, now in AEP.

AEP concentrate all the domestic operations of Argentina. It has a high density of flight although in the last years it was reduced. In the past was easy to aprox to AEP and have to wait in the "cake" or divert to MDQ, ROS or EZE for saturation.

The landing was easy as in COR (congratulations to the captain), overflying the north of the city, right side of River Plate Stadium (there was played the final match of the 1978 World Cup). At any moment, arriving from the NW, the river plate at the left and the city of Buenos Aires at the right is a very beautifull image!!!!
After landing on RWY 13, and turn left to the platform, we head to our parking lot. We went in bus to the new luggage area (AEP was extended closed to a double of capacity in the last 5 years). ,. My luggage came soon, maybe because at that moment there were just 2 or 3 fligths operating.

In resume, my qualifications are (from 0 to 10):

    Schedule: On time
    Amenities inside: 9
    flights attendands care: 9
    checking and boarding area (JUJ):7
    luggage area (AEP): 10
    aircraft: 7
