  • Your Opinion On Hawaiian Air

    Aloha,

I was just wondering what your opinions are about Hawaiian Air.
I am planning to travel with them in a few months time, so it would be much appreciated if you could provide me with some information regarding Hawaiian Air and their Boeing 767-300/ER's.

    Mahalo and Safe Flying

I have had the chance to fly Hawaiian on my Honeymoon. The service was very friendly. I like the 2-4-2 arrangement!! My wife and I were able to sit alone and relax. The 767 is a smooth plane and I would say go for it!!

I flew on Hawaiian back in '99 on their DC-10s and DC-9s. I enjoyed them overall. Their service was truly the "Aloha Spirit" as they describe. Their food was great, their service nice, and their planes clean and the employees were professional and friendly. They had good standing in my mind until some relatives were delayed for nearly 12 hours because they're aircraft was in maintainence and the only available plane was in Pago Pago. Luckily, Hawaiian put them up in one of the nicest hotels in Waikiki. Anyhow, last year I got a chance to fly on their 717s and was delighted. Even talked to one of the F/As who also flys for Trans Air. I think he might have been the one that reported my aviation photography in Lihue the previous year . Anyhow, I'd like to have a chance to fly on them again and I hope I can. I haven't been the 767s yet so I can speak for them. I'm sure you'll enjoy your flight with them greatly. They are much better than Aloha in my opinion. Their fairly new equipment really stands out compared to Aloha's -200s.

flew SFO-HNL-SFO on a DC10 3-4 years ago...i loved it! made both flights without problems as a standby passenger. got pulled from our coach seats just prior to departure and escorted to first class. no better way to fly to hawaii for the first time. i'd love to try the 763 service. i'll fly them again, assuming they're still around.

I've only experienced Hawaiian Airlines via DC-10-30's and DC-9-50's, but the product they offered was exceptional (although it was a bummer being stuck in the middle seat on the DC-10 both to and from the Islands ). The cabin uniforms and Hawaiian IFE bits were a nice touch, and that DC-10 sure was a big aircraft pulling in to LAX I look forward to getting the opportunity to try their 763/712 product.
