Terminal E opened in Jan 2004, so its pretty new. Right now, just the gates are open, the check in and customs should open sometime next year.

Jan 2004, eh? that's interesting because i flew out of the E-terminal in June 2003...it was the first day of operation. only one concourse was open, but it was definitely the E-term.

they just finished testing on the TerminaLink to E, also. That should definitely be open by year's end.... maybe sooner.

The terminal E you flew out of was probably the interim gates they put up while the real E was being constructed.

nothing interim about the e-term that i was in. looks identical to the picture he posted with the pappadeaux sign. actually, my gate was near that sign. their was a starbucks on the corner, a golf shop, etc...like i said, nothing interim about it. they opened the e-term one concourse at a time. makes sense to me.

I wouldn't be flying Continental again, if I were you... but I do admit it's been 15 years since I had my unfortunate experience with them, and PERHAPS they've improved...

by the sounds of this flight, though, maybe not.

You are correct, the first phase did open around that time, the rest of it opened in Jan '04.

CO has made a huge improvement over 15 years ago.

They'd want to. Maybe the demise of Pam Am gave them the good kick up the bum they needed.
