AA is pretty nice. some of the MD-80s have superb leg room. flew on an ex-TWA MD DFW-ATL and was surprised at how much there was. the 757s are pretty nice, too.

I've flown on one AA MD-80, that was pre-9/11. Service was great and the plane looked really nice and clean. Yep, there was plenty of leg room, no IFE- but I don't much care for the IFE on most flights anyway. I also loved the engine sound on take-off!!! The MD-80's engines sound awesome on take-off!!!!

To be honest, my experiences date back a little bit However I remember them for the fun of
-DC 10, LAX-SAN, my first ever Ten
-707-123B, SAN-LAX, another Seven-O-Seven tail in my tally
-A300-600, SDQ-MIA, just to see .... and for the fun of adding a first US registered Airbus
-ATR42, JFK-BOS, AAeagle by Flagship, a US registered ATR42 in the records and the same for
        -SH360, PHL-JFK.
As a matter of fact, the aircrafts were themselves tidy and nicely appointed, good color balance on seats etc.
I think giving AA a try over a transatlantic.
